Three Named as Finalists for Young Athlete of the Year Award

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.
The trio have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the last year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a unprecedented innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a popular morning radio program.
The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.
The ceremony will be broadcast from 7 PM GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Just three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.
She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"Being on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
The Darts Prodigy

The year started for Littler in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
And he wasn't finished there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record.
"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and surged to prominence with an remarkable and historic innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.
Perrin finished second in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm deeply humbled to be named a finalist for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
