Fresh particulars have surfaced concerning the untimely passing of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their residence residence on Sunday.

A Discovery

According to a report quoting a person close to the family, a massage therapist scheduled for an appointment first raised the alarm after not being able to enter the residence. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

After gaining access to the home, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. A companion who had accompanied her contacted 911. Afterward, paramedics found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, including the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently detained without bail.

Disputed Reports

The confidential informant also disputed several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the estate, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that moment.

Additionally refuted widely reported claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction applies to accounts of reportedly "erratic" conduct by Nick at a party hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the tragedy. Although the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they asserted that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.

Ongoing Inquiry Details

As stated by law enforcement officials, the coroner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports noted the state of their bodies implied they had been dead for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was set to appear in court on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
