How the Broncos together with the flexible quarterback can halt that Chiefs' rule.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Real-time updates includes live text of Sunday's games on multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, radio commentary can be heard on select stations for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).
We're in the sixth week of the football calendar , after last week's discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.
Striking in those games was the amount of penalties each conceded. The Eagles committed them in key moments meaning they essentially defeated themselves having led 17-3 going into the final quarter against Denver, who play overseas this Sunday.
But it proved positive to observe how Denver quarterback the rookie was able to have the shortfall and then lead three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the game 21-17.
The Broncos boast the top defender in cornerback their star corner. They rank first in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, and Denver prevailed in that battle.
They had the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not always rushing extra pass rushers instead they might position two linebackers in the interior then withdrawing them and send a slot defender off the edge.
Early on in the campaign, we said on a program that Denver could be the current year's surprise contenders. They finished last season strongly and did a good job in continuing that momentum.
Could Denver be this year's underdog story?
New tight end Evan Engram has stepped up significantly and recent running back their rusher is a guy they believe in. He now ranks fifth league-wide in ground gains (over 400) and tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).
I love that head coach the Broncos' leader has "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.
This demonstrates that Denver are a team that wants to run first, because you can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush while keeps you in favourable down and distances.
It's also helped QB the young passer, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert have the arm strength to throw all over, but they lack in the same way as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, a unique trait, and he is highly agile.
His assets include his movement, the capacity to pass on the run, as well as using different arm angles to make the pass when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He can throw that layered pass across the middle or over the corner.
For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays great poise in the pocket and is not bothered by the blitz. He tries to avoid being tackled as much as possible and is able pass under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.
If you consistently run the ball it consumes the clock and makes the defence to be on the field extended periods, and if you've got a mobile QB the defence has to defend the area vertically and horizontally. It can be draining.
Nix has pushed back at Payton during games sometimes and I think Payton likes that attitude, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for the coach to coach a young quarterback that is similar to play-dough. The coach can really build something up how he desires to shape him. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.
The head coach has won a championship and now surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. In my opinion the success Denver are having on offence is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids make him into who he is.
There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you during difficult moments and build self-belief.
I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. But is the team good enough to go against a top squad at its best? Since that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.
Currently, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a good place to be in their division. The key is to continue this path.
They excel at leaning into their strength, that is running the ball, and this is exactly what they should do versus the New York Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.
New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (among the worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team yet to win any game.
Since the league began tracking takeaways in 1933, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers in five outings, which is kind of shocking when you think that the head coach was previously a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.
Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.
After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.
Looking at their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 while Denver are even with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the division.
This hinges on which form Kansas City shows up they face because the Broncos {beat|def
