Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
US performer Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in LA recently following treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per media reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his family shared in a statement.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on several hit series, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
He was most recognized for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series over nearly a decade.
His work in movies encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he shared publicly.
The actor is remembered by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
