Aerial Imagery Reveal Iranian Naval Forces and Atomic Facilities Hit by American and Israeli Strikes.

A wave of joint airstrikes has allegedly eliminated or harmed no fewer than 11 warships belonging to Iran starting Saturday, freshly analyzed satellite images show, with missile bases and enrichment plants also being targeted.

Photographs of the southerly Konarak naval military port and the Bandar Abbas port installation, which sits on the Strait of Hormuz and contains the main command of the Iran's naval force, reveal smoke billowing from a number of vessels on recent days.

Maritime Forces Sustained Major Damage

Among the ships sunk was the Makran, Iran's biggest warship which had been used as a unmanned aerial vehicle platform. Satellite images indicated dark plumes rising from the vessel which had been docked at the Bandar Abbas naval base.

Analytical assessments indicate that at least five vessels at Bandar Abbas were "hit or sunk". Photos of the south end of the harbor depict smoke emanating from the IRINS Makran, while additional ships are visibly impacted, with one clearly on fire.

At the Konarak base, images display numerous damaged ships, with analysis identifying damage to a half-dozen warships. Photos taken on the start of the week also indicate that a number of structures at the installation have been demolished.

"For a long time the Iran's leadership has harassed global maritime traffic," a senior US military official declared. "Now, there is no Iranian ship operational in the Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz or Gulf of Oman, and we will not stop."

A number of vessels allegedly sunk may have been obscured in satellite images by haze or plumes, or hit in open waters, and have not been conclusively proven. Additional information suggested that a ship from Iran was sinking off the coast of Sri Lanka's waters, leading to a search and rescue mission.

Missile Sites and Nuclear Facilities Hit

The destruction of Iran's rocket sites and the prevention of enrichment activities were listed as additional objectives of the offensive. Aerial imagery also showed impacts against the southerly Khorgu base and north-western Tabriz facilities, and at the Konarak air air base, where rocket warehouses and fortifications were targeted.

Over at the Choqa Balk-e drone UAV facility west of the city of Kermanshah, widespread damage was seen to sheds, underground facilities and unmanned aircraft systems.

Damage was also observed at a radar installation at the Zahedan airbase airbase in eastern Iran, close to the border with Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Of particular note, the most recent series of strikes have apparently targeted installations at Natanz – widely believed to be at the heart of the country's atomic program. An international watchdog commented that the affected buildings were used for access to the site's underground nuclear plant and that "no radiological consequence" was expected.

Broader Fallout and Analysis

Observers stated that the attacks appeared to have "significantly degraded" the Iran's naval capability to sustain traditional warfare using its most significant vessels. However, it was noted that Tehran retains the capacity to launch irregular strikes at sea through the use of drones, small submarines and its so-called "ghost fleet" of oil ships.

The full scope of the damage caused to Iran's defense infrastructure is still uncertain, with strikes said to be persisting. Photos also shows considerable damage to the command center of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the capital Tehran.

A significant number of public facilities also are reported to have been damaged in the capital and throughout the country after the fighting started. Reports of deaths from local officials indicate that a high number of civilians may have been lost their lives in the bombardment.

Amid continuing hostilities, monitoring of satellite imagery will persist to document the evolving battlefield picture.
